About Me:

A graduate of Ryerson Theatre School's conservatory program, Yogesh Chotalia has since appeared in the popular series Sue Thomas F.B. Eye, Wild Card and the award-winning The Eleventh Hour. On the big screen, he appeared in the independent short films The Babe Wore Red, Jerry Burns, Break and Coming To Terms.

On stage, Yogesh performed in K.W. Musical Productions' West Side Story, and Ryerson Theatre Co.'s Three Penny Opera, Richard II, Henry IV & V, Museum, The Good Doctor, and in the role of "Oedipus Rex" in Oedipus The King.

Yogesh currently lives in his home town of Kitchener, Ontario.

Emphasis on acting for stage and film, voice/speech, stage combat and improvisation. Also trained in the following areas: Comedia Dell'Arte, Jazz & Ballroom dance, Alexander technique for stage.
Awarded with scholarship for outstanding entrance.
Audition. (Given to 1 student each year).

SPECIAL SKILLS
Volleyball, hockey, rugby, gymnastics, wrestling, kickboxing, snowboarding, various accents, endurance activities, Tabla, harmonium (East Indian instruments).
Fluent in English and Gujarati. I can also speak basic Hindi and French.

Postal mailboxes are mostly empty these days. Long-distance friends and lovers have traded in their pen and ink for the ones and zeroes of e-mail and the electronic hum of ten thousand webcams. Computers are the new breeding ground for today’s relationships. Love, sex, loneliness, fear, money woes, longing, adultery and jealousy -- 11 Cameras is a voyeuristic look at human relationships and the new ways we connect to one another in the digital age, told through the language of webcams and computer desktops.

  SOHNI SAPNA

Sohni Sapna (Beautiful Dream)

Sohni Sapna is based on the old Indian folktale "Sohni Mahiwal". In the fairy tale, two lovers from different castes risk death to meet every night in secret. This fairytale becomes the obsession of 30-year old Sohni. Unable to separate her dreams from reality, Sohni's life becomes consumed by the "Sohni Mahiwal" story. When her husband discovers her secret romance, Sohni is forced to make a choice between her husband, her dreams and, ultimately, her life.

Yogesh plays the role of "Mahiwal" Izzat Baig, whom Sohni lost her heart to. Instead of making floral designs on earthenware, she started building castles of love in her dreams. Izzat Baig sent off his companions to Bukhara. He took up the job of a servant in the house of Tula, Sohni's father. He would even take their buffaloes for grazing. Soon, he came to be known as "Mahiwal"(buffalo herder).
